Shanghai GM has registered the fastest growth among Chinese passenger car producers since its first vehicle came off the assembly line 12 years ago. The joint venture of GM and SAIC offers a range of models under the Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac brands.

It has benefited from the continuous rollout of popular products, which include the new LaCROSSE, the Buick New Regal, the Buick Excelle XT and GT, the Chevrolet Cruze and the Chevrolet New Sail. This year, it has sold about 500,000 Buicks, 490,000 Chevrolets and 16,000 Cadillacs.

Under its Drive to Green strategy, Shanghai GM has been a leader in adopting eco-friendly technologies such as turbocharging and direct injection as well as low-emission engines and six-speed transmissions. As a result, many of its products are segment leaders in performance, fuel efficiency and low emissions. Shanghai GM offers the largest number of models that benefit from the Chinese government’s energy-saving vehicle subsidy plan.

Its products are backed by Shanghai GM’s award-winning service, including China’s first automotive service brand, "Buick Care." Chevrolet from Shanghai GM finished first in customer satisfaction with authorized dealer aftersales service in China in the J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2010 China Customer Service Index Study published earlier this year.

"We appreciate the support that the people of China have given us,” said Terry Johnsson, Shanghai GM Vice President of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. “Backed by the resources of our parent companies, Shanghai GM has been an industry pioneer. Shanghai GM and our employees remain committed to offering an unmatched shopping and ownership experience for car buyers nationwide."
