SGM Welcomes Its 1 Millionth Chevrolet Buyer
A young woman named Ms. Mi from Beijing's Tongzhou District officially became SGM's 1 millionth Chevrolet buyer in China. Yesterday morning, she was presented the keys to her Chevrolet Cruze and a gift pack worth RMB 5,000 by Mr. Jin, SGM's very first Chevrolet owner in China. The moment when the two shook hands symbolized Chevrolet's becoming one of the fastest-growing global automobile brands in China and was a sign of the tremendous growth of the brand since its introduction by SGM in 2005.
"Gaining the support of 1 million car owners within just 65 months is a sign of the trust of Chinese customers in both Chevrolet and SGM," says Ding Lei, SGM's president. China has become one of the most important Chevrolet markets worldwide. SGM sold 218,951 Chevrolets in China in the first half of 2010, accounting for more than 10 percent of global sales and helping make China the third-largest Chevrolet market after the U.S. and Brazil.
