Shanghai–U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood visited the SAIC-GM Pavilion at World Expo 2010 Shanghai today. 

LaHood took a ride in GM’s EN-V, which is one of the concept vehicles being showcased at the pavilion.EN-V (which stands for Electric Networked-Vehicle) integrates electrification and connectivity, redefining the DNA of the automobile.The two-wheel electric vehicle also has autonomous driving capability, offering a practical solution for increasingly crowded urban areas. 

 

 Kevin Wale, GM China President and Managing Director, and Mike Robinson, GM Vice President of Energy, Environment and Safety Policy, discussed with LaHood GM's energy diversity and advanced propulsion strategy.  

 

“Secretary LaHood’s visit demonstrated the importance of introducing the vision for future urban transportation,” said Wale. “GM is working closely with our partners and governments on technology solutions to address the challenges faced by urban cities around the globe.”

The SAIC-GM Pavilion, which is situated in the Puxi Section of Shanghai Expo Park, is open to the public from May 1 to October 31. As the joint global automobile partner of World Expo 2010 Shanghai, GM and SAIC are presenting a revolutionary mobility and transportation concept that looks ahead to the year 2030.It is a vision of future driving that is free from petroleum, free from emissions, free from accidents, free from congestion, and at the same time fun and fashionable.
