Jonathan G. (Jon) Hyde is general manager of Shanghai OnStar Telematics Co., Ltd., a Shanghai-based joint venture between GM subsidiary OnStar, SAIC subsidiary Shanghai Automotive Industry Sales Co. Ltd. (SAISC) and Shanghai GM that provides a range of in-vehicle safety, security and communication services. He also serves as director of the GM (China) Telematics Business Department.

Hyde was one of the founding employees of OnStar LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors. He joined OnStar in July 1995 and served as vice president and chief financial officer during OnStar’s first 10 years of existence, managing its financial affairs.

In August 2005, Hyde was named OnStar vice president of Business Planning and Program Management. He managed OnStar’s information technology development plan as well as the implementation of several new services and technology projects for OnStar. In August 2007, Hyde was appointed OnStar vice president of China Operations and relocated to Shanghai to establish OnStar’s joint venture.

Prior to joining OnStar, Hyde held various financial positions with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and Ford Motor Co.
