Swedish Pavilion promotion in Stockholm

Swedish Pavilion for Expo 2010's promotion was staged in Swedish Prime Minister's Palace on Thursday local time in Stockholm, the Nordic Country’s Capital.

During the promotion ceremony at the PM's Palace, Carl Cederschiöld, Chairman of Organization Committee for Sweden's Participation in World Expo 2010 and former mayor of Stockholm, thanked the Expo 2010 organizer for providing the good environment for Expo participants and promised that the Swedish side will fully cooperate with Expo 2010 organizer and its pavilion will open to Expo visitors on time.

Annika Rembe, commissioner general of the Swedish Pavilion for Expo 2010, said in her speech during the ceremony that the preparation at the Swiss Pavilion has been proceeding smoothly and the Swedish side will cooperate with Expo organizer to present a creative Swedish Pavilion to Expo visitors and turn it into a highlight for the event.

Two designers of the pavilion briefed the audience on the philosophy of the building and revealed creative details of the pavilion.

Anna Rygård, program director for Sweden's Participation in World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, introduced audiences to major exhibitions to be displayed inside the pavilion such as pollution control and river pollution reduction inside post-industrial metropolises to form green neighborhoods, which echoes with Expo 2010's promotion of low carbon and environment protection ideals.

Sun Weimin, an official with the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination told Swedish media that the Expo 2010 organizer thanked Swedish Government for paying great attention to the country’s participation in Expo 2010. He told Swedish media and visitors that Swedish productions have enjoyed a good reputation in China and he wished the Nordic country will take Expo 2010 as an opportunity to promote advanced urban construction and modern life styles to China. He also invited Swedish people to visit Expo 2010 in Shanghai.

On the same day, the bureau's delegation also met with Gunnar Wieslander, the state secretary to the Minister for Trade of Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the state secretary praised Expo organizers for their good job and thanked them for providing good working environment. He also said that Swedish people from all walks have expressed great expectations for Expo 2010 and he himself was looking forward to visiting the Expo 2010 in Shanghai on an earliest possible date.

The delegation also had talks with Staffan Bjorck, chairman of Information and Communication Committee of the Bureau of International Expositions and Annika Rembe, commissioner general of the Swedish Pavilion for Expo 2010. The two parties reached agreements on issues such as ensuring the pavilion will open on time and organizing special events.
