City Party meeting to better prepare Expo

Communist Party of China’s Shanghai Committee will hold a plenary session on February 24 and 25, focusing on getting the city ready for the World Expo.

The gathering of top Party officials in Shanghai will focus on mobilizing Shanghai to ensure a successful, splendid and unforgettable Expo, the committee said in a statement released today.

Shanghai should ensure the Expo's infrastructure construction and exhibition arrangements are completed on time; ensure sound services and logistics; fully guarantee security; do a good job of foreign affairs work, including receptions of international guests; ensure efficient and effective publicity work; and create a civilized, happy and peaceful atmosphere for the global event.
