Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi today visited the Pakistan Pavilion at the Expo site, which is being decorated with exhibits.
Qureshi expressed satisfaction on the pavilion's progress. He said the Pakistan Pavilion adjacent to the China Pavilion symbolizes the deep friendship between the two countries and the 2010 Expo would further promote the friendly exchange between the two people.
Asad Wahid, director of the pavilion, said interior decoration and exhibition arrangement is scheduled to be finished at the end of March.
Hua Junduo, China's commissioner general for World Expo 2010, said Pakistan is a good neighbor of China and thanked the country for its great efforts in the event.
The 2,000-square-meter Pakistan Pavilion will create a replica of the Lahore Fort, an iconic symbol of the city.
The fort which dates back to the year 1025AD is the cultural capital and heart of modern-day Pakistan. It was given its current design in 1566AD. The building is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.
