Young artists from Thailand presented two dance shows at the Thailand Pavilion today to celebrate of Queen Sirikit's birthday, also known as Mother's Day in Thailand.
The shows at 11am and 1pm featured "State of Ramayana," an Indian epic adapted into traditional Thai dance and Lanna Dance, which came from the northern part of Thailand.
Queen Sirikit, adored as mother of the nation, was born on August 12, 1932. She married King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1950, and is well known for her charitable works and for her care for people. She established a royal handcraft foundation to preserve and develop traditional Thailand culture.
