Expo 2010, Sailing with Our Dream
Expo 2010 is to be held along the Huangpu River in Shanghai China, which would be a feast of politics, economy, and culture and a big event for future cooperation and development. Everybody is looking forward to it and is counting down for it. Each day we witness the Expo approaching with delight and hope.
Actually, I didn't really know about Expo before the success of Shanghai’s application for the Expo. I was overwhelmed by all the cheers and celebrations and happy tears that day. Expo is full of my eyes, ears and my heart, and it comes into my life ever after. From then on, I start to read everything about Shanghai and the Expo from TV and newspaper, and become increasingly interested in state affairs and social hot spots, before that, I only had a vague idea of what’s going on around the world.
Expo carries my dream. There’s an old Chinese saying that “nourish yourself if you are not strong enough to nourish the society”. Although I am just a student, I have my strength and talent to serve the community, not to say my responsibility and passion to do it. It is my honor to be a part of the Expo excellence as a volunteer.
2010 is the year when the dream comes true.
Different cultures will meet here and brilliant ideas will be sparkled on this high-level international meeting. A city needs creativity. World Expo will bring more development opportunities provide Shanghai, and benefit individuals, businesses and society as a whole.
2010 is the year for Shanghai citizens to realize their dream, who really concern about and are dedicated to the Expo in terms of participation and Expo promotion. Chinese people have the tradition to take part in social affairs to look for their self-value and social value, and Expo is no doubt a good platform to show the mental outlook of Chinese people and to build a positive image for Shanghai citizens and businesses and for the country as well.
2010 is the year for Shanghai to realize its dream. With”better city, better life” as the theme for Expo, Shanghai itself is under gradual self construction: roads are paved as new; transportation becomes more efficient, public facilities are fully equipped, and service processes are much smoother. While city hardware is increasingly improved, Shanghai’s "soft power" is also updated: morality education, English language teaching, various cultural performances and eye-catching cultural skill competitions are in full swing and people’s self-confidence builds up.
Expo is an experience of a lifetime. It sets sails with our dream and passion on it .
